A general introduction (and lots of material) can be found in Sannie's DOT Page.

Practicum OOP 98/99

The ORB of choice for this year is Orbacus/OmniBroker. This ORB supports C++, Java, and even Prolog. See the hello world example in /home/eliens/hush/corba/examples/universe. See also Online Corba Lecture

A preliminary installation of the Orbacus ORB is in /home/eliens/hush/corba/*OB*.

For Java, you may also use OrbixWeb 3.0. (Remark: A new version is in the process of being installed, 3/3/98)

Remarks

This page is in development, as is the work on CORBA compliant hush, un the project name crush. Students that wish to do a CORBA related assignment for OOP should contact Anton Eliëns (eliens@cs.vu.nl) for further information and instructions on how to use the local Orbix version.
