abstract
Object Orientation and Component Based Development gain more
and more common
ground in the software industry.
SUN's J2EE and Microsoft's .NET are setting the standards.
In this arena, enterprise information disclosure is key.
Skilled resources and knowledge management form the
challenge.
Hence, the need remains to increase productivity and to
improve application
understandability.
This can be accomplished by combining OO & CBD with a Model
Driven, Pattern
Based Approach.
Compuware's new product OptimalJ supports such an approach.
OptimalJ is based on OMG's MDA (MOF, UML) and uses also
open source products such as Netbeans IDE.
