11/design -- visual design

  1. overall portfolio: can be improved
  2. basic exercises:
    • logo: good thought, might be elaborated (towards coherence)
    • sign: would benefit from stronger graphical abstraction
    • (storyboard)/bw photo sequence: 11 is an odd number, nice message, but could do with less
    • collage: the words might need better graphical positioning
  3. final application: circle of time
  4. presentation(s)/essay(s): escher, good topic, reflect about significance!
  5. Federico's observation(s):
    Pros: Good development during the period. Interesting video approach in final project. A certain unity within the assignements.
    Cons: Sometimes a bit too litteral, too close to the idea. Too explanative, or too obvious.
    Advice: Let go, try out things forgetting the .story. behind, play abstract, look for a solely graphic/visual way of expressing.
