Client side computing

The web is currently moving its focus from server- to client-side computation:

  • HotJava (Sun/Netscape) -- applets
  • hush -- embedded scripts (Tcl/Tk)
  • Grail -- Python scripts

The problem boils down to extending the language involved with sound synthesis functionality.
